Shipping Fees
We use Australia Post and charge at the rate set by Aust Post. Where possible any discounts for shipping will be passed on to the customer with Express upgrades or bonus products.
At present the shipping rates from Australia Post are below, please note I try to use the flat rate packaging where possible.
Why don’t I offer free postage on orders?
Because some where along the lines as a business we need to recoup those costs. Generally these would be added into the price of items which isn’t fair to those who want to collect. Example of free post, Jane buys a candle for $20 and postage costs me $12. I’ve essentially just earned $8. Out of that $8 I need to replace the stock I just sold, set aside tax, petrol to take it to the post office etc.
No-one likes having to pay shipping but unfortunately I can’t personally deliver so I use Australia Post
If you wish to pick up from Corio you are more than welcome to. Please note all orders for pick up must be paid for at the time of ordering.
You’ll need to wait for notification of your order being ready before coming to collect. To get here just type Geelong Candle Co into google maps.
When do I ship
I ship parcels Tuesday to Friday except on public holidays and you’ll receive tracking info in your account.
Insurance
Up to $100 Insurance is included for LOSS IN TRANSIT. The delivery company (AP) will leave parcels unless you choose signature on delivery, it’s called safe drop. We will not be held liable for theft of packages from your door step once left. Parcels of $300 of more MUST have signature on delivery. If your order total is over $100 please consider choosing the option + Ins or signature on delivery. Insurance covers you for LOSS in transit. For broken items you will need to contact us with images.
How long does it take to ship
Please allow 5 BUSINESS days for your order to be created/packed. Usually it is much quicker, but 5 days allows me time if I have been busy or have family things to deal with. If your order is going to be delayed over 5 days for any reason I will touch base. The exit pop up on the website will give you current turn around times.
When will it arrive
That is up to the carrier. You will have tracking so please use that for an eta. If the eta has come and gone we can lodge an enquiry. But only when your parcel is 3 business days overdue. However please refer to the insurance section in case of lost items as to whether or not you will be compensated.
Undelivered – Uncollected
If your parcel cannot be safe dropped Australia Post will take this to the nearest post office for collection. You will have a limited window of time to collect before it’s returned to sender. Please be aware that if for any reason your parcel is returned you will need to pay additional postage to have it resent. I will not refund parcels that are returned to sender. If you do not pay additional postage it will be donated to a local charity to raffle off. I will not be held responsible for the non collection of items. If you are away or going away arrange for someone to collect on your behalf or delay your order.
Wrong Address – Incomplete Address
Please check the address you entered CAREFULLY on your order confirmation. If you have entered the wrong address, or incomplete address your item may not be delivered. Sometimes I will see during shipping that there are unit options for your address, in this case I will message to confirm if you have not listed this. I am not always notified during shipping there are multiple options for a particular address.
I will not be held responsible for incorrectly addressed items when it is customer error. Its your address please enter it correctly.
Shipping during hot weather
During warmer months I am very careful about shipping. If the weather here is forecast to be extremely hot over the weekend I will hold off shipping till Monday. This way your parcel will be on the move for 5 days and not sitting in a warehouse in Geelong over a hot weekend.
